Title of Entry: UTRGV professor releases children’s mystery book series

About this Entry: Dr. David Bowles, UTRGV associate professor of English, wrote a series of children’s books that embody the Hispanic culture of South Texas while telling a spooky tale of an alternative world. The series, titled 13th Street follows three cousins in their quests to battle mythical creatures to get back to the realm of reality. Bowles, the South Texas-based professor and author, drew inspiration from his own life experiences with his own family of cousins, or primos.
